Rolan started his studies as an actor in 2000 at Hammersmith and West London College on a two year performing arts course. He then went on to study acting in 2002 at the Drama Centre London. Rolan made his professional debut in December 2005 in which he played the parts of Wayne and Sergeant Flake in Oscar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost.
Rolan most recently played Britney in the West End and 40th Anniversary International Arena Tour of We Will Rock You.
Theatre includes: Coalhouse Walker in Ragtime and Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park, Fela in Fela at The National Theatre, where he has also appeared in Liberation Day. He played Jessie Owens in 1936 at the Arcola, the lead role of Ivan in The Harder They Come at The Playhouse Theatre, West End, a role he had played previously at the Theatre Royal Stratford East and The Barbican. Rolan was nominated for a What's on Stage Award for Best Newcomer for this role.
Other theatre includes: An African Cargo and An Evening Of Soul Food at the Greenwich Theatre. Husky Miller and Morrell in Carmen Jones at The Royal Festival Hall and Scar in The Lion King at Disneyland Paris. Rolan has also appeared in pantomime playing Dandini in Cinderella and Silly Billy in Jack & The Beanstalk at the Cambridge Arts Theatre.
Television includes: Doctors for the BBC, the regular part of Theo in EastEnders and most recently Rufus in WPC 56 for BBC TV.
