Closing Coolness

I’ve been taking a lot of cool things away from the Shubert in the last two weeks-

I feel like a pirate pillaging for bounty- no joke! I almost picked up discarded tie line from the stage just…cause! Update: I did not in fact take the tie line so please don’t send requests for it. I did however, in a cart I inherited from our original “Mama” Cass Morgan, cart away parts of the set. Some of these pieces already have homes so, again, I cannot be bought or bribed for these items!! Some of items will in fact be available at the 2012 Broadway Cares/equity Fight AIDS Flea Market on September 23rd so stay tuned for that!

Something that WILL NOT be at the Flea Market, but was super duper cool of Carpenter Head, Hank Hale, was to have everyone sign the fire hydrant from the bridge. GENIUS! So before the final show, Hank had everyone leave “their mark” on the hydrant. Yes, that means during the final performance, all those signatures lived onstage.

Here’s a shot of Lead Producers and Junkyard Dogs, Kenny and Marleen Alhadeff, signing the hydrant. Photo by Janet Takami.

Check out a close up of the hydrant, including leading lady, Montego Glover’s signature.

And just for yuks, David McDonald putting his “mark” on the hydrant. Photo by Justin Patterson.
